Introduction
Community has always been the most important thing in my life. Shaped by positive and diverse experiences from my upbringing in Northeast Minneapolis to my involvement in the Denver community, the values of inclusion, opportunity, and collaboration have especially resonated with me. With this in mind, I hope to develop, uplift, and imagine positive communities wherever I go.
I am currently pursuing my Master's in Social Work at the University of Denver, where I recently graduated with a B.A. in Media Studies and minors in Spanish, Leadership, and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. I hope to utilize my academic and professional experiences in the sectors of community development, youth engagement, and program planning.

Community-Engaged Roles
CCESL Community-Engaged Fellow (2022-2023)
As a Community-Engaged Fellow with the Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning (CCESL), I collaborated with multidisciplinary graduate and doctoral students to create diverse, community-driven social change. In this space, I helped develop and deliver community organizing curriculum to high school students in partnership with Denver Public Schools.
Jr. Pioneers Hockey Head Coach (2021-present)
With the Jr. Pioneers youth hockey association, I serve as the head coach for the 10U Rec team, comprised of 10-20 elementary-aged players each year. I lead with my values of community and strive to create an inclusive and collaborative team environment. Through practice planning, communication with families, and interaction with assistant coaches and, of course, the players, my experience coaching has taught me many transferable skills and is something I genuinely enjoy doing.
Denver Parks and Recreation Instructor (2021-present)
Denver Parks and Recreation aims to create spaces of community and engagement -- a mission that aligns wholeheartedly with my passions. As an employee with DPR, I have worked in several community-building capacities, including event implementation, youth program planning, and partnership development.
CCESL Student Scholar (2021-2022)
In my role as a CCESL Student Scholar, I had the opportunity to engage in robust community work through partnership with the University of Denver. Specifically, I spent the year working with the Valverde Movement Project, where I learned valuable community development skills from community members as well as faculty mentors. I was awarded an ACE Grant, due to the generosity of DU Grand Challenges and the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, to pursue the development of a Mobility Tour.
